I was set the task by my lecturers to attend one online gallery/exhibition, and one in-person gallery/exhibition. After this I would then select a piece of art from each gallery/exhibition and analyse them. Finally, I would then choose one piece to react to visually in any medium of choice.
I attended the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh, and the National Portrait Gallery online. I decided to react to Stanley Spencer's 'Christ Delivered to the People' (1950) because I was inspired by the figure paintings within the piece and I decided to create a piece that would allow me to practice drawing multiple figures in different compositions. I am happy with the outcome, and I am excited to take this further.
Enjoy!
